How SignalIQ works
From one free scan to connected business intelligence.
SignalIQ starts with evidence it can verify from the outside. Connect approved systems when you need deeper context, then see what is working, broken, missing, unknown and worth fixing next.

The operating loop
From a search to collected revenue, and back to the next search
Field names only. The values in this chain are yours and appear once your own systems are connected.
- Search demandqueries, search terms, intent
- Campaigns and websitekeywords, ads, pages
- Traffic and enquiriessessions, forms, calls, chats
- Canonical bookings or salesthe booking or sales system's own record
- Delivered services or productswhat was actually provided
- Payments and collected revenuethe payment source of truth
- Analysisevidence, coverage, confidence
- Changescampaign, keyword, SEO, AI-search, page, process
- Re-measurementdid it improve, on the same evidence
Re-measurement feeds the next round of search demand analysis.
One cycle
Eight stages, run again every time the data moves
Each stage names the capability it rests on and that capability's real status today.
01
LiveCollect evidence
A public website scan first. Then, with your permission, Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Google Ads, and later your CRM, booking or sales system, service list and payment records.
02
PartialUnderstand search demand
Search Console queries and Google Ads search terms are joined to the pages, campaigns and services they belong to, so the same phrase is one thing wherever it appears.
03
LiveFind the leaks
Tracking that does not fire, pages that rank and do not convert, wasted spend, negatives that block real customers, missed organic demand, questions AI assistants answer without you, slow lead handling, and services already at capacity.
04
LiveCreate the plan
Ranked opportunities, each with impact, confidence, coverage, effort, what it depends on, what access it needs and how it will be verified.
05
LiveApprove the work
You set the scope and the guardrails. Each change is previewed before it is made, with the approval level it needs.
06
LiveExecute
The Signal team makes the authorised campaign, website, SEO, content, tracking and process changes. What changed, why, who approved it and when it went live are written down.
07
PartialRead back and observe
The live account or page is read back to confirm the change is really there, then the data is left alone for the measurement window it needs.
08
PartialVerify and improve again
The real outcome is compared with what was expected. Verified, failed or rolled back, the result feeds the next cycle.
Every change, one status flow
A change is proposed, approved, applied, read back, observed, then verified
This strip appears wherever a change is shown, in the dashboard and in every report.
- 01ProposedEvidence foundwhat was observed, where, and when
- 02ProposedRecommendationthe change, and why
- 03ProposedExpected outcomewhat should move, and by when
- 04ProposedApprovalwho agreed, under which scope
- 05AppliedAppliedwho changed it, and when
- 06AppliedLive read-backthe change confirmed in the account
- 07WaitingObservation windowenough time for the data to speak
- 08VerifiedVerified / failed / rolled backthe real outcome, compared
Applied is never shown as verified. A change that went live has been made. A change that is verified has been measured against what it was supposed to do, after the observation window, and the comparison is kept.
Two versions of the same business
The same parts. One of them can be measured.
Nothing on either side of this switch is a figure about your business. It is the shape of the wiring: which stages are verified, which are broken, and which nobody ever established either way.
Read both versions of the chain as text
The three states
- ✓ Working — verified.
- ✕ Broken — the failure was found.
- ? Not measured — could not be established. Not a pass and not a failure, and never counted as one.
Disconnected today
- Agency — broken. Owns the accounts, not you.
- Ads — working. The campaigns do run.
- Website — working. The site is live, and tracking stops here.
- The chain breaks here.
- Leads — not measured. Land in one inbox, counted by nobody.
- Staff — not measured. Follow-up depends on somebody remembering.
- Spreadsheet — not measured. Re-typed by hand, already out of date.
- Unknown revenue — not measured. Nothing links a sale to a campaign.
It ends in a stated dead end: nothing measurable past this point. Spend continues; what it produced is unknown.
Connected by signalIQ
Every stage below is marked working.
- Strategy — positioning and the offer come first.
- Content.
- Campaign — tagged at source.
- Website.
- Tracking — events verified, not assumed.
- CRM — one record per enquiry.
- Follow-up — runs without anyone remembering.
- Sale.
- Revenue reporting — the sale is traced back to its campaign.
- Optimisation — decisions made on measured outcomes, which returns to strategy.
Neither chain carries a figure. The states shown are the shape of the problem, not a measurement of your business — run the audit and this chain is redrawn from your own results, with your own states on it.
What it costs
Revenue does not vanish. It leaks at a step nobody is watching.
Every business loses people between a search and a paid customer. The problem is not the drop-off. It is not knowing which step it happened at.
Where the drop-off happens — and where you can still see it
Example figures- People who see the advertising10000
Example figure. The ad platform reports this one to you itself.
- People who reach the website1000
Example figure. Visible only if analytics is installed and verified.
- People who make an enquiry80
Example figure. Scattered across email, Instagram and WhatsApp, so rarely counted in one place.
- People who become customers14
Example figure. Almost never traced back to the campaign that produced them.
Example figures, chosen to show the shape of a funnel. They are not a client result, not an average and not a benchmark, and no outcome like them is implied or promised.
What you can actually see today
- People who see the advertisingUsually visible
- People who reach the websiteOften not measured
- People who make an enquiryOften not measured
- People who become customersOften not measured
Three of the four steps are usually unmeasured, which is why the honest answer to “which campaign made that sale?” is normally a guess. Not measured is not the same as broken — it means nothing established the answer either way.
These numbers are invented
The four figures above are an illustration of the shape of a funnel, supplied to make the drop-off visible on a page. They are not a client result, not an industry average and not a projection of what your business would do. signalIQ publishes exactly one set of real figures, and they are further down this page.
What Signal finds
The leaks a single-platform report cannot see
Which of these is you?
Pick the sentence that sounds like your business
Each one opens to show the path Signal would actually take, and what it explicitly will not do. The engine behind it is deterministic, so what a real client is recommended depends on what their own evidence shows.
I am spending on marketing and cannot tell what it produces
Campaign activity is running, but the return on it cannot be established from your own data — only from the ad platforms reporting on themselves.
What the audit looks at
Whether independent measurement is present on the site at all, and whether advertising is running without analytics behind it.
The path it takes
- Required firstAttribution and tracking foundation
- RecommendedBusiness growth audit
What it will not do
Both rules block the rebuild services outright. Nothing measured about attribution supports rebuilding a website.
Rules applied: rule-11-roi-not-established, rule-03-tracking-attribution-missing
Enquiries get missed, or everything is followed up by hand
Enquiries arrive but are not consistently captured, routed or followed up — and the routine parts are done by somebody remembering to do them.
What the audit looks at
What the answers describe happening after an enquiry lands: where it goes, who owns it, and what happens if nobody is watching.
The path it takes
- Required firstCRM foundation and lead routing
- RecommendedFollow-up and email automation
- RecommendedTracking foundation
What it will not do
This is deliberately not answered with more traffic. No amount of extra traffic fixes what happens after the enquiry.
Rules applied: rule-05-leads-lost-after-enquiry, rule-16-manual-work
We get traffic, but it does not turn into enquiries
One or more of the checks a paid visitor depends on did not pass: the page cannot be reached, read or acted on reliably.
What the audit looks at
The checks a visitor actually depends on — DNS, HTTPS, certificate validity, content present in the HTML, contact details, viewport, mixed content.
The path it takes
- Required firstWebsite repair and conversion upgrade
- RecommendedA new website — only if the checks say so
What it will not do
Campaign services are never removed by this rule. They stay selectable with an acknowledgement attached, because blocking the thing a client came for is not advice.
Rules applied: rule-02-site-not-ready-for-paid-traffic
Our agencies, tools and systems do not talk to each other
The same information lives in more than one place, tools do not pass data between them, and it is not clear who owns the accounts.
What the audit looks at
Where each record lives, what passes between which tools, and whose name the domain, analytics and ad accounts are actually registered in.
The path it takes
- Required firstProcess review and account-ownership recovery
- RecommendedIntegration and automation, built after the review
What it will not do
Rule 8 explicitly does not recommend replacing your agency. It asks ownership and access questions and stops there.
Rules applied: rule-06-disconnected-systems, rule-08-external-agency-ownership, rule-15-ownership-risk
We need content and campaigns that actually run
The website checks passed, but there is little material to campaign with, or not enough creative in rotation for a test to produce an answer.
What the audit looks at
The content checks — word count, FAQ, meta description, heading hierarchy, image alt text — read against whether campaigns are already running.
The path it takes
- RecommendedContent and creative production
- RecommendedCampaign management
What it will not do
A rebuild is withheld by name. These rules only fire when the site-health checks passed, and they list the rebuild services as blocked so no other rule can slip one in off the back of a content finding.
Rules applied: rule-19-healthy-site-content-package, rule-21-campaign-creative-testing, rule-01-healthy-site-healthy-tracking
We need one connected business system, not more suppliers
An end-to-end engagement, or a custom in-house system that other things need to connect to.
What the audit looks at
What the existing system can expose, and whether structured data and crawler access leave anything machine-readable about the business.
The path it takes
- RecommendedIntegration assessment, then a custom system
- RecommendedAI knowledge foundation
- RecommendedOne integrated engagement rather than separate pieces
What it will not do
No integration build is proposed or priced until the assessment establishes what is actually possible.
Rules applied: rule-13-full-solution, rule-12-custom-operational-system, rule-17-ai-readiness
What Signal changes
The work, not the deck
With authorised access and agreed guardrails, these are the changes the team makes and records.
Two kinds of execution
Who makes the change, and what that means
Signal managed execution
With your authorised access and agreed guardrails, the Signal team builds and changes campaigns, keywords, negatives, budgets, targeting, ads, landing pages, tracking and follow-up now. Every change is recorded with what changed, why, who approved it and when it went live.
SignalIQ automated execution
SignalIQ does not change any account by itself. Automated changes are a separate product capability with their own scope, approval, validation, audit history, live read-back and outcome verification gates, and they are not switched on today.
Two kinds of audit
Public audit and connected audit are never blurred
Private client evidence is never used in a public scan, and a public scan never claims what only connected data could show.
Public website audit
- Publicly observable evidence only
- No login and no form submission required
- No revenue-attribution claim
- Unknown areas clearly reported
- Answers: is the website and tracking ready?
Connected marketing and business audit
- Explicitly authorised private data through OAuth, API or import
- Configured lead and booking or sales outcomes
- Attribution only where deterministic joins exist
- Coverage and blocked conclusions measured
- Answers: where is the full funnel and the operation leaking?
The honesty rules
What a number on a Signal page has to carry
Evidence and freshness
Every conclusion shows when its evidence was collected, how fresh it is, how much of the journey it covers, how the join was made and how confident it is.
Unknown stays Unknown
A missing referrer is not proof of direct traffic. A form is not a booking. A booking value is not revenue. Each stays what it is until the canonical source says otherwise.
Two columns, never one
Google-reported conversions and Signal-verified outcomes are kept apart. Revenue comes only from the payment or accounting source. Refunds and outstanding balances stay separate.
Questions
Asked before every engagement
Is this an audit or ongoing management?
Both, in that order. The public website audit is free and needs no login. Connected analysis and managed marketing start only when you give access and agree the scope.
Does SignalIQ change my Google Ads account automatically?
No. SignalIQ reads your account and finds what to change. The Signal team makes the agreed changes and records each one. Automated changes are a separate capability that is not switched on.
Do you guarantee rankings, leads or revenue?
No. We show the evidence, the change we made and what was observed afterwards. Where the data cannot support a conclusion, the page says Unknown rather than guessing.
Who owns the accounts?
You do. Your website, ad accounts, analytics, business profile and data stay registered to you. We are added as a user and can be removed at any time.
Start with the public evidence
The website audit is free and needs no login. Connected analysis starts only when you choose to give access.
